At the Narava Social Intercultural Community Farm, we offer a welcoming and peaceful environment where families and single parents can step away from daily pressures, reconnect with nature, and return to a simpler way of living.
For many years, we have provided family mediation and socially supported reintegration services with children. We support families, single parents and their children facing challenges such as parent and child conflicts, difficulties within the school system due to limitations, or negative experiences with social service institutions.
Our goal is to help families find common ground, especially in situations where separation or divorce feels imminent. In many cases, mediation in natural environments without outside influences can prevent separation when mutual respect and willingness remain, allowing parents to continue raising their children in a stable and supportive home environment. Participation is always voluntary and may involve some or all family members as part of the Narava social family program.
We also provide essential support to parents and children affected by conditions such as autism, ADHD, and related challenges. Our aim is to help families manage daily life and, whenever possible, support a gradual return to an adapted and inclusive educational setting.
Across Europe, many children with autism, ADHD, and similar conditions face difficulties accessing suitable education. A significant number do not attend school regularly. Some rely on home education, while others adopt alternative lifestyles like traveling without systematic education due to exhaustion and a lack of adequate support. This is an increasingly visible and sometimes concerning situation.
Too often, existing systems fail to provide appropriate educational opportunities for children with special needs. Many children struggle to find their place due to rigid expectations or limited support. When parents raise concerns, they may encounter misunderstanding or even unjust accusations by umbrella organisations like state social services, particularly in cases involving single parents or family separation. As a result, families can feel isolated and stigmatized.
This growing issue highlights broader systemic challenges and leaves many families without the support they need. While travel and cultural exchange can benefit a child’s development and we understand the choice of lifestyle and freedom, they are not always a sustainable substitute for long term stability and future opportunities in their daily lives for both parent and child.
At times, it is important for the family with their children to take a step back. A short break can offer clarity, emotional relief, and the space to make thoughtful decisions in the best interests of their family.
During spring and summer, our focus is on outdoor activities and connection with nature. In winter and early spring, we offer a cozy indoor studio space where families can continue to receive support and mediation. *In the summer its also possible in some periods to use a cozy studio room*
Mediation at Narava is voluntary and structured. In exchange for support, adult participants contribute a few hours each weekday to farm activities or local community projects.
This approach:
Creates a healthy daily rhythm
Provides a sense of purpose through meaningful work
Strengthens community through shared contribution
Families who come to Narava may be together, separated, single parent or in the process of divorce. We always try to help improve communication, establish balance, and support healthier parenting when needed. While we aim to support unity where possible, we also recognize that separation in between divorce situation between all, can sometimes be the healthiest outcome for both parents and children.
