Join our practical learning project and put your skills into practice within the local community and at Farm Narava.
Learn how to work safely and confidently with different tools, including hand tools, gardening tools, and electrical equipment. In this way, you can learn the right techniques for practical work around the house and garden.
You will often practice directly with materials such as wood, while also having the opportunity to learn basic maintenance of petrol powered equipment, such as chainsaws, as well as electrical tools. There are also opportunities to learn painting, wood repairs, basic electricity and soldering techniques.
This opportunity is suitable for men and women, and can be especially useful for single parents, including mothers and fathers who often have to manage everything on their own in and around their home while caring for one or more children.
Everyone who wants to learn and have a respectful behaviour is welcome. By developing these practical skills, you can become less dependent on others, prepare yourself for a career change, or gain the confidence and knowledge to work on your own projects or farm.
Learn how to correctly hold and use hand tools such as saws, hammers, and screwdrivers.
Learn how to work safely with power tools such as drills, angle grinders, and other electrical equipment.
Learn which screws, wall plugs, types of wood, and other materials are suitable for different jobs.
Learn how to work safely and responsibly with tools, equipment, materials, and within different working environments.
Learn practical techniques for painting, repairing, maintaining, and working with wooden materials.
Gain practical experience while working in natural surroundings, including land, gardens, and forests.
As we are a non-profit foundation with a social mission and a focus on community support, we created this learning supported program as a volunteer based initiative.
At certain times of the year, Farm Narava also participates in intercultural exchanges, creating opportunities to learn not only practical skills but also from people with different backgrounds and experiences.
The learning program was temporarily stopped after a severe storm and flooding in Slovenia in 2023, which caused significant damage to Farm Narava and resulted in the loss of many tools and materials.
Fortunately, since the end of 2025 we have been able to offer the program again. In 2026, we created a new dedicated tool and workshop space where participants can learn and practice both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
The contribution is only €20 per person per day.
This includes:
Use of a shared sleeping area, in the summer you can also join and use your own small tent.
Access to a comfortable shared lounge space, amazing river across the farm, with swimming options in the warmer periods
Breakfast in the morning
A warm evening meal, depending on the current available offering
Coffee, tea, and water, which you can take yourself
Lunch can be ordered in advance for a small additional contribution if desired. Other drinks are available at the current cost price.
The practical learning program generally takes place in the morning, from approximately 09:00 to 13:00.
After the learning activities, you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Farm Narava, relax, or explore the local area.
Public transportation also stops approximately 2 minutes from Farm Narava, making it possible to take trips and explore the area even when you do not have your own transportation.
Farm Narava is known for its warm, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere, where people can learn together, share experiences, and enjoy during their stay.
Participation is possible for different periods, for example:
A weekend

Longer stays
For one day workshops, such as workshops for students, schools, organizations, or groups, please contact us to discuss the available options and suitable practical assignments where participants can apply the techniques they have learned.
Everyone is welcome to learn, practice, contribute, and discover what they are capable of doing themselves.
