Scouts and Groups 

We take meaningful and fun experiences for scouts and youth groups with and without disabilities very seriously, combining with fun, adventure with authentic intercultural exchange. Our programs offer outdoor adventures, teamwork activities, team building and team bonding experiences, scenic hikes, adventure trails, engaging fun activities, and even hands on cooking sessions such as pizza workshops.

These experiences are partially sponsored by our foundation and supported by welcoming host family, but run by our summer volunteer(s), all set within the healthy, beautiful natural surroundings of Slovenia. Evenings may on your wish include a cozy musical campfire, Karaoke and the use of the clubhouse with entertainment, outside grill, using one of the musical instruments or borrow one of the kayaks for use on the lake of Slap ob Idrijci. While summer programs offer exciting options such as swimming, rock and bridge jumping, ensuring unforgettable memories for every participant.

Did you know that the world’s oldest known musical instrument was discovered in the village of Šebrelje, just a short distance from Narava Farm and across the well known Pivovarna Zajc (Reka).  At the farm, our social community worker is an experienced guide, former intercultural experienced scout leader in the past, and someone who has been passionately still involved in scouting life for many years. With a big heart for our spring, summer, and autumn projects with many kind of target groups, we and the host family always try to make new adventures and share culture.

We offer intercultural exchange on a voluntary basis, just like all our activities for scouts and groups. In return for an average of only 2.5 hours per day of helping with educational and practical tasks around the farm, scouts and groups can enjoy humble natural accommodation space for their tents and a rich learning experience. Weekends, afternoons, and evenings remain flexible and can be arranged according to your own program. Our projects are meaningful, community oriented and contributing to charity, nature conservation, and the creation of facilities and resources for future scout and groups to enjoy year after year on non-profit basis. 

We offer a complete sponsor program - volunteering package with a minimum stay of 7 days and maximum of 14 days.

We only ask for a small part for the food contribution of €15.00 per person per day only if the group has minimal 6 persons. This covers partly only the three basic meals only within the actual offer, with the cost of the electric and gas, food will all be arranged and freshly prepared for your group. If your group requires special dietary meals, customised food outside our basic offer, or larger portions, these can be arranged upon request at the additional actual cost, in the end we do it all voluntary to help out.  Normally, costs would be significantly higher. Same that there are no separate or hidden fees for pitching your tents overnight you would normal pay already 20 euro per person per night, exclude electricity, food and drinks (coffee, thee, water included only). Thanks to our group arrangements during the summer, sponsorship from Narava Farm (EU Foundation), and the full support of the host family and volunteer(s), we are able to keep this program affordable with the large sponsored part in it. To help out, we also provide sometimes a snack in between and some extra basic drinks in the evening within the welcome night. WiFi and extra use of the electricity will be also offered free of charge and will be on our cost, including during your stay, there will be access for covered charging points during the day for your phones and media devices. 

Our goal is for every scout and group to enjoy a wonderful intercultural experience filled with adventure in Slovenia without having the normal high cost for just only pitch their tent without nothing aside. Feel welcome, sharing culture, fun activities, shared cooking, and delicious meals. Groups that can be accepted into our sponsor program for their requested dates, must complete the registration form we will send by email. After the registration and to help out, your group contribute only 50% of the small part of the food contribution by bank. The remaining 50% 2 weeks before arrival, so that with more financial flexibility and more time to arrange it within your organisation and attendees. During your stay, just a few pictures will be made with the projects that are done, but will be only use for foundation purposes and shown upfront, so everyone is ok with it.

Important Notice Regarding Group Participation

Unfortunately, and for the first time in all these years and after countless positive experiences with scout groups, we have had to take action against a scout group from Brussels, Belgium during the summer of 2026.

We received multiple complaints from the areas they visited regarding abnormal and excessively loud behaviour, underage drinking, flashing lights at cars in the middle of the night on the road, and disrespectful behaviour towards the Farm Narava family and volunteers.

Despite repeated requests and warnings, the group repeatedly ignored the house rules and responsibilities that apply to everyone staying at Farm Narava.

The group ultimately left Farm Narava with approximately €4,200 in unpaid costs because of their actions, as well as multiple damages and repairs that had to be addressed afterwards, including cleaning their used compost toilet.

Due to the seriousness of the situation, we were required to issue formal warnings and contact their main scouting organisation. We also experienced issues involving libel and slander, as well as inappropriate social media behaviour under the lead of their main 2 scout leaders, including the use of Snapchat to contact other scout groups with apparent attempts to negatively influence their positive participation and experiences in Slovenia.

As a result, this particular scout group is banned from Farm Narava. Due to the seriousness and wider impact of the situation, the ban also applies within our network of partners and project farms in Europe.

This is an exceptional situation. Over the years, we have welcomed countless scout groups and have had many wonderful, respectful, and positive experiences with young people, leaders, volunteers, and international groups.

We therefore ask every group visiting Farm Narava to remember that you are not only visiting a farm, but also joining a local community and entering another country and culture.

Please respect the country, the local community, the farm family, our volunteers, our neighbours, our house rules, and the culture you are joining.

We believe that international exchange and scouting should be based on respect, responsibility, learning, friendship, and positive experiences.

We welcome groups only who share those values.
