Free coffee and tea, fruit syrup or fresh spring water. Food is available at actual cost, without a profit motive.

Coffee by Neighbours is our non-profit community programme, run on a voluntary basis. It continues the tradition of local community days that began in Europe in 2003 and continued in Slovenia from 2018.

These Sundays are all about people, not money, status or judgement.

We want to offer a place with a warm welcome, equality, broad intercultural understanding and good times in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Everyone is welcome: families, single parents, children, elderly people, students, locals and visitors from abroad.

It is also a welcoming stop for families and single parents going through difficult times, as well as cyclists, bikers and people travelling with children who would like a place to meet, relax and enjoy some time together before continuing their journey.

From the heart to the community

The story behind these community days started many years ago, from the heart and through voluntary work. It began with guiding and supporting people with visual impairments and other disabilities, including people with Down syndrome.

Over time, this continued through the establishment of our own catering and technology company and entertainment activities and amusements, where resources were used to create community days and organise evenings for different groups of people.

The idea was always the same: to create a warm and welcoming place for everyone, including families with children and single parents of either gender, where people could feel welcome and supported without have to worry about money, social status or personal circumstances being the measure of their value.

These activities created many smiles and good memories. They also gave people,  including families with children, elderly people and students in more difficult financial circumstances, the opportunity to enjoy good times without financial worries. For some, they also became a way to reduce loneliness and simply have someone to talk to.

Because of our mixed roots, many travels and guided tours throughout Europe, and especially because Slovenia has always had a special place in our hearts, we opened the doors of Farm Narava in Slovenia in 2018 with a completely new setup and a new chapter in its life.

Farm Narava has a charitable function and provides socially supported programmes, all operating on a non-profit basis.

Farm Narava : a place with heart

Farm Narava is located between the stunning Soča and Idrijca valleys, near Reka close to our dear neighbours Pivovarna Zajc and Gostilna Kurn'k, in the village called Stopnik. The farm has its own special place beside the beautiful Idrijca River, just across from the farm.

In 2026, after years of heartfelt, hard work and community days since 2018 in Slovenia when we returned back to part of our roots, we rebuilt our community area together with volunteers, for all to enjoy with a warm welcome.

We also wanted to create opportunities for people to give a meal from the heart.

Each month, food will sometimes be provided free of charge to elderly people and families who are experiencing financial difficulties. Locals and visitors can sponsor a meal for someone else who needs it.

Summer and winter at Farm Narava

During the summer, the community setup is also available to guests and visitors as part of our tourism activities, this next to the whole year round we offer the option for celebreating birthday parties for adults and children. 

We operate this on a low budget basis too in a legal signed Foundation cost agreement upfront, with contributions helping to cover maintenance, improvements and renewals. This helps us keep Coffee by Neighbours and our other charitable programmes running for the community.

Sometimes we also receive donations, even the lowest donations can help others. Everything that comes back to us through these activities is used again for the local community and for programmes supporting people who need help. In compair to certain charities and foundation setups, we all do as volunteers from the heart. 

During the winter, we make a warm outdoor fire whenever conditions allow, while our humble clubhouse provides a warm indoor space for people to meet and spend time together.

Come as you are

This is a place where we want people to feel comfortable regardless of their financial situation, background, age or social status.

You can come for a coffee, a meal, a conversation, a rest, a little music, time with your children, or simply to be around other people.

Coffee by Neighbours takes place every Sunday from 10:00 to 16:00, with advance notice.
